Mining Work Wear – A Kind of Preventive Clothing

Employees working on-field are prone to accidents & risks, especially workforce engaged in mining worksites. In such cases, ensuring safety becomes one of the main components of the highly risked job. In mining industry where the employees work in an environment of constant accidents and risks, wearing an appropriate mining work wear and following the safety standards can reduce the chances of any type of mishappening.

In situations where the casualty could not be avoided, wearing a protective uniform can reduce the risk of injuries such as rashes & cuts, minor burns, and broken bones. In many countries, it’s the law to provide the working staff with the necessary equipment and uniforms.

Preventive clothing is highly recommended in the mining industry because of the following reasons:

Skin protection: Wearing proper mining work wear can protect the wearer’s skin from a number of rashes and cuts which may result due to various natural and man-made conditions. There are a number of clothing types which are fire-resistant and can save the individual from minor burns.

A barrier to various natural conditions: Employees working on ming worksites are required to work at odd hours in odd circumstances. Wearing suitable preventive clothing can save them from the wrath of nature – extreme conditions such as freezing winters, scorching summers, winds, and rains. These clothing are also helpful in preventing conditions such as frostbite & sunburn.

Better visibility: Employees wearing a high visibility protective mining work wear have an increased chance of getting rescued sooner than non-wearer of the uniform, in case of any mishappening.

The mining work wear includes safety goggles, steel-toed boots, long-sleeved shirts & long trousers, high visibility vests, ear plugs & hats and safety helmets.
