Is Health care Uniforms Can Cause Cross Contamination?


In Dentistry it always having a change of cross contamination of infectious microorganisms between patients and staff. There are two main modes of transmission i.e. direct and indirect. In direct mode it include aerosol transmission i.e. transfusion is happens by contacting with oral fluids and blood and in indirect mode transfusion is occurred through contaminated equipment and surface and inhalation of airborne pathogens. For this reason cross contamination is an serious issues disused in dental field. In fact such aerosol may caused several disease like tuberculosis, common cold, influenza, herpetic viruses’ infection, hepatitis B and C, and HIV.4 etc. Scrubs and lab coats are known as an dental attire which is compulsory worn by healthcare professionals. In fact it is described as the “uniforms” for healthcare department. Most of the people think that healthcare uniforms can spread the disease from person to person however there is no records found that uniform can spread diseases. It is very essential to wear healthcare uniforms in any practices.
