How To Handle Specific Stains Of Healthcare Uniforms




While working in a healthcare industry it is quite common that you might come in contact with germs and stains on a regular basis. While healthcare uniforms are designed in such a way that they help you protect from these stains, germs, and virus. Uniforms play quite a crucial role in protecting one from getting infected but what about maintaining these uniforms and keeping it clean and stain free. We’re sharing some tips that will help you keep your uniform clean for your own safety and wellbeing of your patients and coworkers:-
Stains From Liquid Medications: - Often there might arise a situation where your uniforms might get stained from liquid medication which can damage and stain it. To get rid of this stain dip your uniform in the mixture of cold water and oxygen-based bleach. Now allow the scrubs to soak for at least an hour or overnight. Follow by laundering the scrubs as usual. This procedure is sure to help you get rid of the strains.
Stains From Blood:- Cold water works best to treat blood stains. While Hot water sets these stubborn stains, making it much harder to remove it. After dipping, rub the affected area and then apply heavy-duty laundry detergent to the stain while allowing it to sit for 10 minutes and then launder it as usual.
Stains From Urine, Vomit Or Feces Stains: - These type of blood stains responds best to cold water. Run the stained clothing under a cold rinse, and treat the affected area with a heavy-duty fabric detergent you can also add ½ cup baking soda as it helps eliminate lingering odors from the uniform.
Stains From Ointment: Warm water is best to treat Oil-based ointment stains. To get rid of these stains simply wipe off the lingering ointment residue, and apply heavy detergent while soaking it for around 10min and then wash the uniform in hot water.
