Majority of public and private schools have uniforms and follow dress code policies. A research and showed that there the are benefits as well as drawbacks related to school uniforms. People in favour of uniforms justify the mandate practice believing it promotes equality. On the other hand, detractors criticise the policy saying that uniforms become too costly for financially struggling families. There are no concrete evidences to point the advantages or disadvantages. For example, a school launches promotional school batches and imposes a buying compulsion, so even with the poor quality, one still has to pay the high cost which poses as a burden to financially hapless families.

Improvement in behaviour:- The most positive impact of school uniforms on students is that it prevails equality. The students are no more judged on their clothing style or on the price tag. This also encourages personal discipline and also results in the improve student's behaviour.

Reduced fashion:- In our fashion driven society, both girls and boys are under tremendous pressure to dress in a particular way to accepted by their peers. School uniforms eliminates this issue by imposing the practice of same dress for everyone.

Comfort:- According to a recent case study, it's found that students feel more comfortable in uniform than in casual dresses. The practice of wearing uniforms and also enhances the confidence level as the students are less concerned about fashion and trends.
