Important Facts About Mining Work wear

If reports are to be believed, there are approximately 20,000 deaths globally due to mining. There is no denying the fact that mining as a profession produces a fair share of deaths. When an employee work in a risky environment and they don't feel safe and comfortable, they will focus more on protecting themselves rather than carrying out the task efficiently. With a proper protective mining gear one can overcome the risks to a great extent and be more comfortable and productive Through this article, we'll discuss about the correct mining work wear to perform different mining activities smoothly. Mineworkers should always wear full safety gear clothing such as, helmets, gloves, boots, protective padding, eye protecting goggles etc., to prevent severe injuries.

1) Goggles:- Wearing the appropriate eyewear. Selecting eye protection according to the work environment is very important. Kiched-up minute pebbles or metal pieces with enough pace can cause significant damage.
2) Full -face helmets:- A full -face helmet provides the overall protection to the face. According to the reports, wearing a full-face helmet can reduce the number of deaths annually as the brain and spine are less affected in case of any accident.
3) Gloves:- Mining Gloves should are specially designed for drilling, cutting and other mining activities. They are commonly made from leather, kevlar, cordura or some other combination like carbon fiber or other types of rigid padding. Some of these mining gloves also provide wrist protection.
4)Jackets:- Jackets are generally made from leather, kevlar, ballistic nylon, or other synthetics materials. They are especially designed to protect elbows, shoulders and spine.
5) Vest:- Vest are produced using luminous and retro-reflecting materials, a vest can be worn over jackets to increase visibility and it becomes more important especially in adverse dark and wet condition.
6)Earplugs:- Earplugs are used to protect from hearing damage.
7)Pants:- Pants are mostly made from the same material as that of jackets but some prefer denim jeans with kevlar reinforcement. These pants are specially designed for protecting knees and hips.
8)Boots:- For mining activities, boots are primarily designed with plastic caps on the ankles and toe area.

It's always recommended to wear protective gear to ensure safety. According to the norms set by the government, these items should be included in all mining uniforms issued by the companies. Apart from the aforementioned protective gear, it is equally important for the mining company to regulate safety conscious environment.
